Et tu, XML? The downfall of the relational empire (abstract)

چکیده

Three decades past, the relational empire conquered the hierarchical hegemony. Today, an upstart challenges the relational empire’s dominance, threatening the return of hierarchy. XML is Lisp’s bastard nephew, with uglier syntax and no semantics. Yet XML is poised to enable the creation of a web of data that dwarfs anything since the Library at Alexandria. This talk examines the design of XQuery, the W3C standard query language for XML, and looks at related phenomena such as XML Schema and the Semantic Web. For more information on XQuery see http://www.w3.org/XML/Query.html. Apply Uncertainty in Document-Oriented Database (MongoDB) Using F-XML

As moving to big data world where data is increasing in unstructured way with high velocity, there is a need of data-store to store this bundle amount of data. Traditionally, relational databases are used which are now not compatible to handle this large amount of data, so it is needed to move on to non-relational data-stores. In the current study, we have proposed an extension of the Mongo...

Interprocedural Information Flow Analysis of XML Processors

A crucial issue when providing publicly accessible web services is that sensitive data should only be accessible by authorized users. Accessibility of data within an application or information flow can conveniently be formalized as a 2-hyperproperty of a program. Here, we present a technique to interprocedurally analyze information flow in XML processors. Our approach is based on general techni...

Formal Framework of XML Document Schema Design

Designing “good” XML documents is a very difficult task for a database designer. Although many theories for XML database design have proposed, none of commercial design tool for XML document design has been developed to assist the XML document designer. In this paper, the authors present a formal framework of XML document design by incorporating a conceptual model of XML schema called Graph-Doc...

Transaction Management for XML Stored in Relational Database Systems⋆

Nowadays, modern commercial relational database management systems (RDBMS) enable functionality to store, query and update XML data. One of the key problems is efficient handling of concurrent access to XML data stored in RDBMS. In this paper, we present an efficient concurrency control method for XML data stored in RDBMS. Our approach is based on Grabs et. al. work on XMLTM, an XML transaction...
